@elnafateh ... the reason for the delay is that we have 2 GSoC student projects dealing with the same effort (new command processing)... at this point I'm not even sure if we didn't assign this package already to someone else. So... the synchronization was lacking a bit in the beginning... I'm also not sure if I assigned myself to this PR or someone else did... anyway, now we are in the middle of the student projects and they have a bit of a higher priority. Just FYI. Also: for a first timer this PR is a bit large to begin with... I'm not sure if we have many (or any) low hanging fruit left with command processing (i.e. simpler ones that don't require the amount of changes), but we could have tried to find something suitable for you. And as you saw in the first couple of comments you didn't quite land where this needs to be.
