Abhinav Kumar Jha commented on FINERACT-752:
--------------------------------------------

Hi, I have opened a PR for this: https://github.com/apache/fineract/pull/6665

I reproduced it on develop with the steps from the description (the withdrawal
fee is not needed):

- Configuration disabled: one interest posting, on 25 March 2019 (144.75)
- Configuration enabled: two postings, on 23 March 2019 (138.72) and 24 March
2019 (144.75)

So the interest for 1 to 23 March is credited twice, and every further
backdated transaction adds another posting.

*Cause:* with the configuration enabled, a manual posting is dated on the
period end (24 March). On recalculation that date is read as a posting date, so
the period ends one day earlier (23 March) and a second posting is created.

*Fix:* the stored manual posting dates are moved forward by one day before the
periods are split. The new integration test checks that the configuration
changes only the posting date, not the amount. It fails on develop and passes
with the fix.

The Post Interest For Savings job has a separate problem with manual postings,
which I will raise in its own issue.

Could a committer please assign this to me and approve the CI run on the PR?
This is my first contribution.
