Martin Junghanns commented on FLINK-3118:
-----------------------------------------
Unlike {{MapFunction}} or {{JoinFunction}}, the {{MessageFunction}} does not
necessarily handle the sames types as contained in the input data sets. In my
specific algorithm, I can extract it from the input set and return it via
{{ResultTypeQueryable}}. But as the interface is currently not considered in
the {{VertexCentricIteration}}, this has no effect. Hope I got your question
right.

> To generalize message values in vertex centric computations, it is necessary
> to let the user define the {{TypeInformation}} via {{ResultTypeQueryable}}.
> This needs to be checked in {{VertexCentricIteration}}.
