## What is the purpose of the change A [custom serializer for scala ADT](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FLINK-18631) sealed trait class hierarchies. Using ADTs in Scala with Flink always resulted in severe performance degradation due to Kryo fallback, which we hopefully trying to address in this PR. ## Brief change log - SealedTraitSerializer and SealedTraitTypeInfo implementation for sealed trait serialization support. - TODO: add a test for SealedTraitTypeInfo - TODO: PR to apache/flink-benchmarks with benchmark code showing the impact - TODO: add migration support if ADT is extended with new members - TODO: mention limitations of ADT support in the docs (like generic ADTs) ## Verifying this change This change added tests and can be verified as follows: - added a normal and nested ADT tests to ScalaSpecialTypesSerializerTest - added new test SealedTraitSerializerTest ## Does this pull request potentially affect one of the following parts: - Dependencies (does it add or upgrade a dependency): no - The public API, i.e., is any changed class annotated with `@Public(Evolving)`: no - The serializers: **yes** - The runtime per-record code paths (performance sensitive): **yes** - Anything that affects deployment or recovery: JobManager (and its components), Checkpointing, Kubernetes/Yarn/Mesos, ZooKeeper: no - The S3 file system connector: no ## Documentation - Does this pull request introduce a new feature? no - If yes, how is the feature documented? not applicable ---------------------------------------------------------------- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
