Do you have an idea for FLINK-23252 already? Do you know when will you perform 
the unwrapping there? It might influence the choice here. What do you think?

Personally, I don't have a preference between the two options suggested in the 
ticket. I trust your judgement here. IMO, would be good to have a unified story 
with FLINK-23252.
