There are plans to remove JDK 8 and JDK 11 support in Apache Flink 2.0 (see the 
[roadmap 
documentation|https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/FLINK/2.0+Release]; 
they are two items at the end of the list). That would make JDK 17 the least 
supported JDK version (with JDK21 support in beta stage being added in the 
upcoming 1.19.0 release). Other than that, I'm not aware of any other 
discussions on that topic so far.
