This seems to be a duplicate of 
[FLINK-38284|https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FLINK-38284], where we are 
also discussing the Hadoop AWS API changes and how big of a change the would be.

Given this issue was created later can we close this as duplicate and I will 
replicate the information in comments on that issue?
