awmatheson commented on PR #27000: URL: https://github.com/apache/flink/pull/27000#issuecomment-3335069259
> @awmatheson I see this in draft but thought I would comment. It would be good to reference in the PR or the Jira where this new keyword is already used in existing SQL implementations / specifications. Thanks for the comment. In fact I don't believe ARTIFACT is used in very many existing SQL implementations, but they are sometimes referred to with `artifact repository` type of params or keywords (Snowflake). And the functions themselves that are uploaded are often referred to as artifacts (Snowflake, Confluent, Ververica etc.). Would love to know more what your thoughts are on the keyword or alternatives while this is still a WIP. I am mostly seeking a way to have Python developers be able to specify an artifact without having to write JAR. And those artifacts could be .zip, tarballs or even .py files. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
