Since there hasn't been further activity here, I'll go ahead and work on this. Plan: wire the native structured-output path (model `response_format` / JSON-schema mode) into the chat-model integrations, layered on top of the existing prompt-engineered fallback, following the strategy ranking discussed above (native API → tool calling → prompt).
