@mateczagany I've updated the PR: the heap-based left state is now opt-in via `table.exec.temporal-join.rowtime.use-heap` (default `false`). With the default, the state layout is unchanged and existing checkpoints/savepoints restore as before (`TemporalJoinRestoreTest` passes). Enabling the option on existing state fails explicitly with a `StateMigrationException` instead of silently dropping rows. Since it doesn't depend on the state backend, could you consider adding it to the proposal in FLINK-40336 as an alternative/complementary approach? -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
