I find "PrimitiveFile" a bit ambiguous. Not everybody will understand that
this refers to a file that only contains primitive types...
Alternatives could be `readPrimitiveTypeFile` or `readBasicTypeFile`.
Nonetheless, I'd prefer option 1.
