I agree with Ufuk that ```File``` should appear somewhere in the method
name. Since the user might not a priori know which types belong to the set of
supported primitive types, it might cause some confusion when he plugs in a
wrong type and the program fails. Since the set of supported primitive types is
manageable, I'd prefer option 1.
