Sebastian Kruse commented on FLINK-964:
---------------------------------------

Hi guys,

I have committed a new version of the prototype on
[https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FLINK-964].

I tried to address some of the issues that you have mentioned. There is now a
configurable window size, i.e., the plot starts sliding to the right after some
time. Additionally, I made two prototypes pertaining to the "scope" that show
the status of the different task managers independently. Here are some
screenshots:

However, I think that some of the ideas go beyond this ticket, e.g., involve
new memory metrics. I tried to keep the code as general as possible, so that
involving new metrics should be not that hard. However, I propose, that for
this issue we focus on agreeing on the general visual presentation of the
metrics and open new tickets for the remainder issues (e.g. supporting metrics
on windows, involving new metrics etc.).

What do you think?

> This issue is subject to discussion.
> The profiling code currently needs to be kept in sync with the job graph
> code, execution graph code, and runtime code.
> Since that part of the code is undergoing quite some changes and the
> profiling code is not used right now, I suggest to remove it, or move it to
> an artifact repository.
