Its your time but I would hate to see you spend a lot of time to upgrade to a
version and then find out you have to do it over again because HBase and Hive
require it. I would suggest looking at those components first just to see what
their target versions should be (you can then create Jiras for those) and then
see where that lands you with Hadoop. But yeah, we should go for the minimum
version upgrade so long as it isn't going to be EOL shortly.
