First, in the future, please direct questions of this nature toward the mailing
list, and not to JIRA. JIRA is specifically designed to track bugs and feature
requests for development, and is not a support forum. See

To answer your question, Chrome has added support for the Clipboard API, which
enables this functionality. I do not know the state of that support in the
other browsers, but when it was initially released it was definitely specific
to Chrome and not supported across browsers. As IE is dead, I doubt if IE will
ever support it. According to this page:

Firefox versions 63 and higher support it, so you should be able to make it
work in Firefox. That said, it is usually disabled by default and something you
have to enable on a per-site basis.
