Ciro Iriarte commented on GUACAMOLE-261:
----------------------------------------

Submitted the native SPICE protocol implementation upstream as GitHub pull
requests:

* Server (libguac-client-spice):
https://github.com/apache/guacamole-server/pull/688
* Client (guacamole-client / guacamole-common-js):
https://github.com/apache/guacamole-client/pull/1227
* Manual (documentation): https://github.com/apache/guacamole-manual/pull/297

The implementation covers display (render, dynamic client-to-guest resize,
multi-monitor extend), keyboard with server-layout support, mouse/cursor,
bidirectional text and image clipboard (with session-recording capture and
direction annotation), audio playback and microphone input, file transfer
(SPICE agent push + WebDAV shared folder), video codec selection, and TLS/proxy
connection options.

Validated with an end-to-end QA battery (14/14 PASS) against live SPICE guests,
exercising the full path browser -> guacamole-client -> guacd -> guest,
including multi-monitor extend (validated up to 4 heads at 1080p), agent-based
file copy, and audio. The pull requests also carry the GUACAMOLE-288
multi-monitor primitive that the SPICE multi-monitor support builds on, with
the original authorship preserved.

> SPICE is becoming quite popular, and is available as part of KVM. Guacamole
> should add support.
