Grace Kaboh commented on HAWQ-182:
----------------------------------

Hi Goden,

Thanks for the kind feedback. I have been going through the Extension framework
and I understand exactly how it is used to add new engines to HAWQ through the
3 classes (Accessor, Fragmenter and Resolver). Our work relies mainly in the
fragmenter class for the HBase plugin for now but I will sumbit a proposal
extending my work to the Hive plugin as well. In case we don't finish the two
tasks in the GSoC time frame. We can still continue work to a couple of weeks
after GSoC but the objective for GSoC is to work on the HBase fragmenter class.

> Implement getFragmentsStats in HBase's fragmenter (HBaseDataFragmenter).
> As a result when running ANALYZE on PXF tables with HBase profile, advanced
> statistics will be collected for that table.
