Gustavo Anatoly commented on HBASE-9357:
----------------------------------------
I've tested start the RESTServer (HBase 0.96) without "bin/hbase-daemon.sh
start", and I when try access the main page, RESTServer logs throws connection
exception. I was thinking that RESTServer could not be started, without a valid
ZK connection.
Thanks Nick.
> Rest server shouldn't need to initiate ZK connection to print usage

> Components: REST
> Affects Versions: 0.95.2

> Priority: Minor
>
> When there's no ZK available, running `bin/hbase rest` must timeout before
> printing usage information. Initiating a connection should happen after
> parsing CLI options, not before.
