Groups will definitively be a good option to achieve that. Even if it's not 
exactly the same thing. Worst case, just need to have one group per table, and 
so we can define rights per tables working with the related group...

So if I understand correctly, this as been started, but is not fully developed? 
Do we already have another JIRA to follow that?
