bq.These were deprecated in 0.96 and we should remove them now (rather than 
renaming and/or restoring them).
So when we make some API deprecated in one version, when we can remove this?  I 
was thinking that we can remove it in next major version.  I am also having the 
same feeling as what Lars said above.  Pls correct if I am wrong.
