Nick Dimiduk commented on HBASE-12688:
--------------------------------------

I think velocity templating is still happening under the hood, it's just being
done from fluido's default site.vm file. We can bring it back, if you'd like to
keep that bit explicit. I hadn't noticed the loss of the search box; I'm prone
to start with fluido's version because it's known working with the new css/js,
and then apply anything it's missing (like the search box).

There's another one,
[reflow-maven-skin|http://andriusvelykis.github.io/reflow-maven-skin/], which
looks like it's getting more updates than fluido. Looks more feature-full too,
makes it easy to drop in themese Was pointed out to me by one
yohan.koeh...@gmail.com. Let me give this one a spin.

> Looks like we can "upgrade" our look pretty cheaply by just swapping to a
> different skin. This fluido-skin uses Twitter Bootstrap. It's an older 2.x
> version (upstream has moved onto 3.x), but it's a start. There's some
> out-of-the-box configuration choices regarding menu bar location. We can also
> look into some of our own custom CSS.
