Ok, reverted from 0.98 as well. 

I think current scan uses 5 mins as the operation timeout (I did not check 
whether heartbeat changes that or makes it irrelevant). if we want to be on the 
conservative side, lets go with 5 or 10 mins. if aggressive, 3 mins. 
Do you mind to do an updated version Andrey?
