Dave Latham commented on HBASE-14054: ------------------------------------- Even taking the most recent timestamp for each row would be expensive. I could imagine each region or region server using an artificial internal clock that never goes backward. It compares to the system clock and if it sees it jump backward, then it freezes or slows the artificial clock time until the system time catches up to it. If each region has a clock attached to it, then the clock could persist between region moves. Perhaps this is what Enis meant by a logical hybrid clock?
