Alright. Let's open a forward port jira as a subtask.
bq. Yeah I took a look at the code and I believe throwing exception in this
case should be fine as it is properly handled upstream by all cases. Something
we can forward port as well.
Ok. As long as we keep the branch-1 and master code in sync.
