Josh Elser commented on HBASE-16574:
------------------------------------

bq. base.backup.system.ttl deserves a separate sub-section to explain user how
to control TTL of a backup images and data

Can you expand on this a bit further for me, [~vrodionov]? Is it as simple as
if I set a TTL of 1day and then create a full backup, that full backup will
"disappear" after 1 day (and thus the data will be automatically cleaned up
locally)? Any other metadata that needs to be resolved?

If I want to change the TTL (realize that I set it too small, and want to amend
it), do I need to restore and create a new backup or is there a mechanism to
alter the existing backup "records" in {{hbase:backup}}?

Will get your other feedback incorporated, Vlad. Thanks!
