I can help out with the AsyncWAL testing here.
One suggestion ,
Pls try to compile your ycsb hbase-client with 2.0 client libraries and then
run the tests. We found that the 1.1 client library has contention issues
because of connection sharing. Though it is a different client side topic it
can be helpful to get the actual server readings for 2.0 IMHO.
