[~busbey], I've changed the title of this issue to 'Complete thrift2', I think
that would be easy to accept. As I said before, the main goal of this issue is
to 'complete' thrift2. Only new features will be added to thrift2, no
incompatible change will be made, so this part will go to the next minor
release of 2.y (2.2.y I think). As for the deprecation, If we agreed to do
this, will only go to 3.x.
