The short term choices we have are:
# revert HBASE-4528, HBASE-4487, and HBASE-5541 (are there others?)
# Partially revert HBASE-2467 (or devise other ways to have strictly one thread
flushing an HLog).
Maybe Todd as the author of HBASE-2467 could chime in... Todd?
