Yeah, we have seen writes been affected when compactions were running, probably
hboss locks are the main culprit here.

Yes! Apart from the ref guide task, there are two more pending. Should we wait
for those, or can we merge those as follow on? Bulkload support is also missing
yet, but I guess we already agreed to work on it on a separate jira.
