Andrew Kyle Purtell commented on HBASE-26826: --------------------------------------------- [~zhangduo] [~wchevreuil] [~elserj] [~bszabolcs] Since you performed the branch-2 work I wonder if you had any thoughts on the suitability of branch-2.5 and upcoming release 2.5.0 for hosting this feature, to be marked as "experimental". This idea was floated when considering that hbase-operator-tools would need to contain (or consume) protobuf definitions of SFT file structures in order to repair issues when SFT is in operation, and a coordinated release of that support with 2.5.0 could be advantageous. There is otherwise no pressing need for the backport except perhaps to make it available for testing in a real release sooner. > Backport HBASE-26067 (Change the way on how we track store file list) to > branch-2.5 > ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- > > Key: HBASE-26826 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HBASE-26826 > Project: HBase > Issue Type: Task > Reporter: Andrew Kyle Purtell > Priority: Major > Fix For: 2.5.0 > > > In a discussion on dev@ the idea was floated that StoreFileTracker could be > backported into branch-2.5 to be released as part of 2.5.0 as an experimental > feature. This issue considers the backport. > There are sixteen subtasks on HBASE-26067 and several other tangential > commits. Compile a list. > Cherry pick the list in sequence, fixing up as necessary. -- This message was sent by Atlassian Jira (v8.20.1#820001)
