Sigh... The WAL files would still need to be sync'ed upon blockclose. Since 
they mix data from different stores, there's no telling ahead of time. Which 
leads to:
# global hsync option upon close block for HFiles and Hlogs (makes no sense to 
sync HLogs but not HFiles or vice versa)
# global WAL edit hsync option
# hsync CF's WAL edits
# WAL hsync per Put/Delete/Append/Increment/etc
