I don't have a problem with these changes, but I don't think they address the
request of this bug. The request is to turn down the chattiness of the
connection process in the logs. I would do this by changing some of the INFO
messages to debug.
The current patch adds more information to some of the log calls, which is
fine, but doesn't do what this ticket asks.
