Ismaël Mejía commented on HIVE-21737:
-------------------------------------

[~belugabehr]
Previous run passed almost all tests, however around 10 tests were breaking for
some issue against a version of Avro (1.7.7) leaked by the Spark version
installed in the CI that conflicts with the patch. I tried to move the Spark
version up from 2.3.0 to 2.4.4 (latest stable) but then I hit new issues, and I
discovered that Hive runs the tests against a non standard Spark version :S

I opened a thread on the ML to see if somehow this can be done, but any help or
idea here will be greatly appreciated.

> Avro 1.9.0 was released recently. It brings a lot of fixes including a leaner
> version of Avro without Jackson in the public API. Worth the update.
