Thanks for logging this ticket [~pchenxi]. Keep in mind that MR is deprecated
and subject to be removed anytime soon. I wouldn't spend too much time trying
to fix code that may disappear in the next release. That is to say that in
general PRs/JIRAs that touch deprecated code are rather low in priority and
some may never get reviewed.
