Description:
Repro:
1. Create an Iceberg v3 table without payload; insert rows (snapshot S1).
2. ALTER TABLE t ADD COLUMNS (payload variant); insert rows.
3. SELECT id FROM t FOR SYSTEM_VERSION AS OF <S1> WHERE variant_get(payload,
'$.event_id', 'int') = 15
- vectorized: HiveException: Failed to extract variant: MALFORMED_VARIANT;
- non-vectorized: an empty result.
Expected: an empty result in both modes, because the column is NULL for every
row of S1.
