I think the total count is hard to do without query, because often there are
more than one HMS available that are adding databases/tables/partitions.
So yea the only other option is for metrics to have both a startup count, and a
delta count contributed by this HMS. It will be up to user to tally it up if
they have multiple HMS. Do you think that is better?
