### Java version?
OpenJDK 21.0.1
### Operating system
macOS
### What happened?
When the Mail action selects a Mail server connection that doesn't exist
(renamed, deleted, or a typo in a variable), the workflow stops with a
NullPointerException instead of the action failing:
ERROR: java.lang.NullPointerException: Cannot invoke
"org.apache.hop.mail.metadata.MailServerConnection.getSession(org.apache.hop.core.variables.IVariables)"
because "this.connection" is null
ERROR: A serious error occurred during workflow execution:
Neither the success nor the failure hop is followed, so error handling in
the workflow (for example a failure hop to another notification) never runs.
**Expected:** the action logs that the connection can't be found, sets an
error and returns false, the same way it does when no SMTP server is set
("Unable to send the mail because the mail-server (SMTP host) is not
specified").
**Steps to reproduce:**
1. Create a workflow: Start → Mail, with a success hop and a failure hop to
two Write to log actions.
2. In the Mail action, select or type a Mail server connection name that
doesn't exist, e.g. `does-not-exist`.
3. Run the workflow.
