@rdblue I agree, first writing with Beam, and computing statistics is very wasteful. Also, Beam isn't native to object stores (some renaming going on), so I'd have to fix that in the Beam codebase as well. Got the Iceberg writers working today. Took less code than I anticipated. It is still very rough, so please don't look at the code :) Will clean this up tomorrow and add tests!
