For what it's worth, the reason I think this didn't come up sooner, is that the jars that come packaged with Spark still work for reading both. When I move the parquet-1.10.2 jars that came with the OSS distribution back to `/opt/spark/jars`, I'm able to read both tables. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
