Quick update: As for the additional spatial-index files, they are created
because of a restart of our docker container. It's strange that it exists with
code 0 and that there is no stack trace. It seems as if it crashes either while
writing the temp file or while moving it to the final location.
Perhaps its just an OOM issue on our setup and unrelated to report of the
generated index not being active.
