As far as I know the lines will only happen with radeon graphic cards (but I think I saw it once on a SIS VGA chipset with OO 1.1) - with the xorg server and also with the driver from ATI. Meanwhile I use a NVIDIA an it happens that there are no lines. By using the ATI this graphical error will ONLY occur in OpenOffice.
