Hi [~jpountz], when I originally opened LUCENE-9537, I had TermQuery and
TermWeight forked in the patch that I submitted. However, after discussing the
code with [~mikemccand], it was decided that it made more sense to tightly
integrate smoothingScore with the lucene API so that there would be no need to
fork complex lucene classes. It was a good amount of work to make these API
changes, and it is all working with my latest PR so I want to make sure we are
all on the same page before going forward.
