About the first two issues I know, cannot be avoided w/o Javascript.
Regarding your use case: This I do understand.
What I rather wanted to hear your opinion is that with the approach taken from
Bootstrap in the fluido skin that classes a/b aren't use at all with your
report and they resort to CSS selectors...
