jira-importer commented on issue #200: URL: https://github.com/apache/maven-jar-plugin/issues/200#issuecomment-2956677993
**[Brett Porter](https://issues.apache.org/jira/secure/ViewProfile.jspa?name=brettporter)** commented the artifact created in the jar plugin can have a handler created for it - the default is to use extension = type, so its possible. But unless they are something special (demanding a new plugin), I don't see why they can just be renamed later and stored in the repository as jars. I've never heard of a .har or a .spring, but I don't understand the recent proliferation of new extensions for jars. A jar by any other name is still a jar - call it a jar! -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
