CI is green on all 8 cells, including the three JDK 8 ones — which directly confirms 2.20.17 is fine for the Java 8 baseline. The `drop-legacy-dependencies` enforcer failure I mentioned above did not occur in CI; it only reproduces locally where enforcer resolves to 3.6.3.
