The 3.x counterpart of #1156 — converts `src/site/xdoc/index.xml` to Markdown with `doxia-converter` on the `maven-plugin-tools-3.x` maintenance line, so the two branches keep their site documentation in the same format. Please **merge or rebase rather than squash** — the rename is in its own commit so `git log --follow` keeps working. ### The SVG embed had to be put back by hand The page embeds its dependency diagram as `<object type="image/svg+xml">`. `doxia-converter` drops it — `Unknown Sink event 'object', ignoring!` — which would remove the diagram entirely. Markdown has no equivalent, so the original `<object>` is written back as an inline HTML block; Doxia passes it through unchanged. ### Verification The site was rendered from this branch before and after and compared on title, author, visible text and link targets. The only difference is that a non-breaking space is now written ` ` where it was ` ` — the same character, hexadecimal rather than decimal.
