Note for users on **3.x**: PR #610 targets the Maven 4 API path (`ToolExecutor`) and does not apply to the 3.x code path. If you are on `maven-jar-plugin` 3.x, the workaround is to set an explicit valid `Automatic-Module-Name` in `<archive><manifestEntries>`, or to skip module name validation by removing the attribute altogether.
