Backport of #13398 to `maven-4.0.x`. `DefaultModelProcessor#read` searched the parent of the located path for a model. When a `ModelParser` returns the project directory itself as its source, as `locateExistingPom` allows, the parsers were asked to locate in the directory above the project, so `parse` was never called and the XML reader failed with "Is a directory". The processor now uses the path itself when it is a directory. A regression test is added to `DefaultModelProcessorTest`. Fixes #10387 -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
