slachiewicz opened a new pull request, #1799:
URL: https://github.com/apache/maven-site/pull/1799

   Adds an accessibility check to *Verify Site*: after `mvn verify site`,
`.github/accessibility/check.mjs` loads every page of `target/site` in the
runner's Chrome and runs axe-core 4.14.0 against WCAG 2.2 level AA. Any
violation fails the build and is listed by page and element.

   What it does not check yet, so that it passes today:

   * `color-contrast`, `link-in-text-block` and `target-size`: faults of Fluido
2.1.0 (link colours, links in lists), fixed for the next skin release. Remove
them from `SKIN_RULES` when `content/site.xml` moves to it.
   * The banner (`#banner`), which comes from the parent POM's site descriptor
and the skin.
   * `image-alt` on `team.html`: the avatars the team report renders, fixed in
apache/maven-project-info-reports-plugin#693 for its next release.

   It also fixes the content faults it found:

   * `component-reference-documentation-helper.html`: labels for the three form
fields and titles for the two frames.
   * Release notes 3.6.1, 3.6.2, 3.6.3 and 3.8.1: `## The detailed issue
list[](#Details)` rendered an empty link and no anchor, so "end of these
release notes" led nowhere; there is now an `id="Details"` anchor.
   * `scm.html`: the seven source-repository diagrams in `<object>` get an
`aria-label`.

   `axe-core` and `playwright-core` are pinned in `package-lock.json` and
Dependabot gets an `npm` entry for them; RAT skips the two JSON files.

   Verified: `npm ci` and the check on the rendered site → 300 pages checked, 0
violations, about 3 minutes; with an `<img>` without `alt` added to
`about.html` → exit 1, `about.html: image-alt`; `mvn apache-rat:check` → BUILD
SUCCESS; no published URL or anchor lost. Not run here: the step on the GitHub
runner, which uses its preinstalled Chrome.
