Every Maven site inherits its banners from this site descriptor, and the left one, a link to maven.apache.org, has no `alt`. Screen readers announce the link by its URL or file name. Fluido 2.1.0 already renders `<image alt>`, so sites pick this up with the next parent release, without a skin update. The right banner is decorative and stays without `alt`.
